About This SiteFever Dreams was created in 2006 as a simple means to archive fiction, information, and possibly fanart later in a way that would be quickly and easily accessed. All of the fiction here is related to the characters as portrayed in the roleplay group linked below, "Domino Effect." The initial fiction and roleplay logs here were the result of experimentation during a lengthy hiatus on group activity. That initial experimentation...well... snowballed, for lack of a better word, and an entire storyline developed, diverting from the current activities at the group. The original layout was decidedly quick-and-dirty, simply because a more complicated site wasn't necessary - most of this work was never intended to distribute to other readers. Eventually, as more content appeared and more readers discovered the site, it became apparent that a cleaner and more readable overall look and feel was necessary. About the CharactersDescriptions of Seto and Tristan as they are portrayed on this website can be found here, as well as short bits of information about the authors. You don't need to know much, you're not here for us now, are you? Abandon hope, all ye who enter here expecting to find completely canon fiction. There's other places to look for that. Maybe we'll write some. ...Maybe. Someday.![]() Seto KaibaThere's no sense in reiterating Seto Kaiba's entire biography. For more information on who he is and where he came from as it relates to the universe where he is portrayed, visit here. The 'real' Seto Kaiba is a main character featuring in the Japanese animated series Yu-Gi-Oh!. He's one of those interesting characters who alternately fills the shoes of antagonist and protagonist... an 'anti-hero,' if you will. His name is the same in both the original and the redubbed versions of the series. The character of Seto Kaiba as he appears in Domino Effect has facets of both portrayals, but is ultimately not completely aligned with either. Things to keep in mind about Seto as he is portrayed here: Seto Kaiba is not a teenager. He is in his late twenties. Seto Kaiba is not a 'Duel Monsters' duelist. He is fond of card games, but this game has yet to exist in his realm. He did not play it as a child. The Blue Eyes White Dragon physically exists in his world. Or rather...it existed. With the help of brilliant minds in the field of biogenetics, Seto Kaiba was able to engineer a living, breathing dragon. While 'BlueEyes' died tragically of a fatal flaw, his life had a profound effect on Seto, and continues to be even more of an influence on his mental process as the card affects Seto's canon counterpart. As far as he knows, Seto Kaiba is an only child. This does not dismiss the possibility of Mokuba completely - in fact he does exist in the ongoing game, but Seto was raised as an only child, and thus far is not aware of any other siblings. Seto Kaiba was privately tutored and graduated from Yale. He had a childhood mostly typical of a well-to-do child of business. He never went to public school. Tristan Taylor![]() The 'real' Tristan Taylor is a minor character featuring in the Japanese animated series Yu-Gi-Oh!. The name 'Tristan Taylor' is the name given to the Japanese character 'Hiroto Honda' by American company 4Kids Entertainment when the series was brought to America and redubbed in English. The character of Tristan Taylor in Domino Effect has facets of both portrayals, but in the end is only based on them. Things to keep in mind about Tristan as he is portrayed here: Tristan is not a teenager. He is in his early twenties. He is not, nor was he ever Japanese. Tristan is born-and-bred New Yorker. Tristan's heritage is a mixture of Cuban and Italian, with heavy dashes of other cultures that make him your average New York City mongrel. He is a nonpracticing Catholic. He doesn't speak Japanese, never lived there and never visited, although the concept is something he wouldn't overlook. Tristan has never seen a Millennium Item, and probably wouldn't know what it was if it jumped up between his legs. The canon occurrences within the series, with a few exceptions, have never occurred. Magic and spiritual power is still available and completely possible within his world, but he's never seen it and is still a skeptic. Not a bad thing, probably. He still has a healthy sense of self-reliance, rather than expecting Yugi Mutou to save the world (and himself) for him. Tristan has an extensive, generally loving family. He has an older sister with two children of her own, a mother and stepfather, and his mother's extended family which includes an aunt and an uncle and their respective families and friends.
